Socks Cranes (Red) | Painted

This pair of Painted Socks is inspired by the pattern on a traditional Japanese kimono. Both the font’s color red as well as the depiction of cranes is full of Japanese symbolism.

The red represents the color of the sun and stands for joy & happiness, which is why in Japan a bride’s dress is red instead of our white, for example. In traditional storytelling cranes reach an age of a thousand years (60 years in real life), which is why it stands for a long & happy life. If you fold 1000 cranes in origami, you can make a wish that will come true!
